The Black Keys Release “Eagle Birds” Off Of Their Upcoming Album

The Black Keys are finally releasing an album after their five year drought. The bands ninth album, Let’s Rock, will be coming out June 28 following 2014’s Turn Blue.

“Eagle Birds” is the first song previewed off of the upcoming album. The song includes guitar solos and an emotional chorus, with frontman Dan Auerbach singing “Don’t nobody wanna be lonely/Everybody oughta be loved sometime.”

Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney have been busy with a variety of their own projects since Turn Blue, but in an interview with Rolling Stone they shared how easy it was to pick up right where they left off. “It’s this magic that happens with Pat and I,” Auerbach said. “It was the same thing that happened when we were 16 and started playing, and magically, it just sounds like music. It was really awesome, having the break and then coming back and just playing with Pat again. It felt great.”

The Black Keys will be headed on their North American tour this fall promoting Let’s Rock starting September 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada and stopping in Toronto, ON October 9. The band will be accompanied by Modest Mouse with other special guests like Shannon and the Clams, Jimmy “Duck” Holmes, *Repeat Repeat and Jessy Wilson on select dates.
